I bought the
Linksys BEFW11S4 router and the
WMP11 Network Adapter. Installation of the router took longer than expected because I did not turn off my firewall so my main computer could not get a signal. But it is now running fine. The problem begins here.
I tried to install the Linksys WMP11 network PCI adapter, but it would not work on Windows 98 1st ed. and you had to have Windows 98 SE. So, I returned it in favor of the
MA111 network adapter USB . Installation took 2 minutes and it was up and running. Except, the stupid drivers that came with it had to be updated so that it would not freeze everytime it established a connection when you turned it on. So i updated the drivers and now it hangs when you try to turn the system off. I called Netgear and they said this was KNOWN problem and I had to update my BIOS.
WTF, why doesn't netgear spend 30 more sec to figuire out why their shitty drivers don't let my computer turn off. Now I am getting a friend to "aquire" me a new operating system greater than Windows 98 and hopefully I'll buy a linksys network adapter once everything is set again.
EDIT: Spelling error in title, 95 changed to 98
