Replacing laptop LCD screen

Tue May 25, 2004 9:42 am

I have come once more to pick the minds!

I have an opportunity to buy a laptop with a busted screen for cheap. My question is, how much would it cost me to replace it? I'm confident that I could do the replacement myself, but (on average) how much would a new screen set me back?

Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of this being done, but I am sure that it is possible.

I have an old laptop with a busted screen too, so this thread may be useful to me as well...

Yes it is possible. Check EBAY for the model and they generally have screens listed for sale.

A tech I work with services all the laptops here. He has replaced a couple dozen screens... I can pick his brain if you guys run into any problems or have any questions. He says its a moderate job(not easy, but not hard). About a thirty minute job.
