Audiophile help. 6.1 rear-center speaker

I'm getting ready to add a rear-center speaker to my existing 5.1 setup. Yes, my receiver already supports 6.1 and it's driving me nuts to not have the full complement of speakers.

My questions:

1) I can't seem to locate a speaker that's specifically designed for the rear-center channel. Is that because the specs are similar/identical to that of a front-center channel?

2) What types of sounds eminate from the rear-center channel (special effects, dialogue, ambient noise)?
