Lasers on the Battlefield

Some wicked stuff. With some technological advances you could render artillery inert. This thing has already shot down some arty shells in flight.

Millions and millions of dollars spent in destruction, I say dont buy those expensive weapons and all fight with swords, like Medieval time. It would save a lot of money and only the best would win, not the most rich.
I say all conflict be resolved by no-holds-barred matches of paper, rock, scissors.

You think thats something, imagine a 5inch 54 deck mounted gun on a navy ship being replace by a laser gun that makes that thing above look like a bb gun.
The test I got to watch shot through 20 2inch steel plates and blasted through a 10 foot think solid concrete block and put one hell of a hole in the side of a hill.
The guys running the test comments had me and my partner in tears. I would venture to say were have these on new ships or retro fitted in about 5-10 years.

Wow this is truly amazing.....when I think of laser I think of Starwars and such.....now we really can harvest the power of radiation and atoms...getting into that is whole new boardgame including many other peices then weaponry! But I do agree with PL_M@ster about the swords. We would then never have to worry about cheaply being wiped out with a nulear bomb.....But until people can come to their senses and realize that we will just have to keep playing this game where we always try to "beat" the enemy in developing more advanced weapons. Thats how it will always be though i guess.
