Dakana based on that scary list , I'd say A.McGee's theory sounds pretty reasonable. I once lived in a poorly wired apartment that had power issues like he mentioned (dimming of lights every now and then). There were even issues with the phone lines and cat5 cables (many got accidentally cut from a follow up contractor) Oh those were the days... on a crappy 56k that couldn't even connect over 20k
Hope you can resolve your issues man because you've had to put up with way too much PC death for one person.

I have both the Abit NF7-S and used two Asus A7N8X dlx. I rma'd the Asus so I could get the rev 2 that supports 400 FSB. I would recommend either one.
The machine I use most is the Abit. I don't see any difference between the two other than the Abit oc's higher and the Asus has more goodies. Both have good sound....who needs Destructive Labs!!
After all you've said, I think you'd better have your power checked. Don't you think it's a bit suspicious so much hardware has fried?

Perhaps it is the powersocket upstairs. I haven't had a SINGLE problem with any of my hardware. Nor has our 'family' pc, which has been running strong for 2 or 3 years now. Doesn't make any sence.
How many other PCs are upstairs? It is definitely possible that there's only faulty eletrical wiring in that one area upstairs. In that apartment I mentioned , there were only problems with my room (at far end) when it came to the wiring. The other rooms could connect via the cat5 cables and had no issues with phone line or lights dimming.

All the motherboards except for 2 were DOA. One fried when a PSU died, and the other one is this one now.
The PSUs - one died when it was downstairs - sparked, smelled bad, and killed my mobo. The other was 3 years old, generic, and happened after I was moving it - therefore I switched it off in the back. After that it died, but it didn't harm any other components.
All of my friend's stuff happened downstairs, except for the RAM one, which happened in my room. This incident now and the peaceful death of a PSU happened in my dad's office, where I have my computer now.
When in my room, I had a surge protector. When in the office, I was just in the wall.
Ryan has a surge protecter and is downstairs. We HAVE had several severe storms lately, and whenever the air conditioning clicks on, the lights flicker. Maybe this is it... at LEAST I'll get a surge protector, and I'll look into a battery backup.
