A very important question

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

As far as memory, I have the Corsair XMS PC-3200 (the model number is, I believe, TwinX1024-3200C2PT).

One other thing I just noticed, which may be unrelated to the other problem: I have noticed a slight flicker in BF1942 and FH since I updated the BIOS. My refresh rates are the same as before, but I definitely am noticing a flicker.

Ralph those RAM sticks you listed are registered. They were tested by Corsair for Athlon boards but should be ok for the intel P4c800 board. If I were you I'd do some searching on google and see if anybody has had similar issues (the memory tests) using your motherboard plus that RAM model number.

You should be trying to run in Dual Channel mode and this means having both modules in the 2 blue sockets or 2 black sockets. (double check your manual for the info, it will explain this clearly)

As far as the flickering goes that could be many things. I recently had flickering on my monitor but that was due to my surge protector not providing enough power to the unit. Changing cord to new outlet solved the probem.

When playing bf1942 you should use your monitor buttons and check the refresh rate to make sure it's showing what you picked in the menu or control panel. There should be some setting where the monitor will give you the current refresh rate it's displaying. (called "viewmeter" on mine)

I still think you should test some other games to make sure this isn't just a driver or game issue. BFV should not be used as example right now because DICE have acknowledged issues that they plan to patch in a week.

negative good buddy. Part number TwinX1024-3200C2PT is non-registered, non-ecc memory, Cas2, Platinum heatspreader. Part number TwinX1024R-3200C2PT is the same part, only registered.
