HL2 preload begins Aug 17

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Only owners of Condition Zero will be able to download?

Sounds like Valve is apologizing for CZ - they should be! :P :D

Check this, at the end of the beta, your not allowed to keep the cs: source, so you could have it for say, 2 weeks and they can say ok it needs a ton more work, so we will delay until next year lol

hmm from voodooextreme news editor, who is owned by IGN

Valve's Gabe Newell posted on the HL2 Fallout forums the pecking order of dates that folks can download Counter-Strike: Source from Steam (still no word on a public beta, however). The interesting part of the post is the Half Life 2 pre-load date that starts in one week. Can we expect a Half-Life 2 gone gold announcement soon? If they're starting the pre-load in 7 days I sure hope so...
8/11 the Cafe's turn on (tomorrow). 8/16 CZ/ATI users pre-load. 8/18 CZ/ATI turns on. 8/17 HL-2 pre-load starts (textures, audio and other stuff that doesn't change).

Question for you fine knowledgable gentlemen.

This past winter I bought an ATI card with a free coupon for Halflife 2.

Now I understand I can send in for the disk but I should be able to download it when its released. Will that require me to sign up for that pile O'crap Source service? Or will i be able to access it for my free download?

Thanks in advance.

EBgames has it coming out the first of next month but then again it's EBgames.

Is CS:Source still going to be a free mod or are they charging for it? I was under the impression that it came with the game free of charge.

HL2 will be on Steam and in stores. With the coupon you can get it through Steam or through Valve as a boxed set if you mail them the coupon or something like that.

CS:Source comes with HL2 and it is HL2's multiplayer.

I'm also looking forward to HL2, but I don't think doom3 was a flop. I've had it for 3 days and it scares teh crap outta me everytime I play :help: :ar15:
