Don't upgrade to the new AIM version

Postby Jeffro » Fri Aug 13, 2004 12:54 pm

AIM: Bloated and Proud
Software gets bigger....and bigger.....

AIM fans have a decision: they can either upgrade to newer versions of the instant messaging software bloated with the inclusion of software like Weatherbug and WildTangent, or use older versions that suffer from critical vulnerabilities. To help nudge users to the former option, AOL is planning a number of new improvements in version 5.9; such as digital image management, a Search toolbar, and mobile phone wallpapers, some of which will require a yearly fee to access. A beta of the latest version is already available for download.

I'm doing a adaware now to see if anyone accidentally downloaded it.

Funny thing about that: If you run the AOL spyware program it gets rid of the spyware put on my AIM. So ha to the AIM Bastards who came up with THAT idea.

I use both, AIM is better for sending files/folders, and they have away messages/profiles that are easily accessed.

MSN- You can have a large display picture, change your name as much as you want, and better for WebCams/Audio conversations.
