Following Doom 3's massive initial success in which it shifted over 300,000 copies in its first week of retail, probing questions have been bombarding id software ever since as to the companies future line up. Not content with hearing of the forth coming Quake 4, journalists turned their attention to a slip up in a television advert by id's CEO Todd Hollenshead, in which he inadvertently announced the sequel to 2002's smash, Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Funnily enough, they came up with the name RtCW 2
However, because of delays in signing a third party developer (id will not be making the game itself, but overseeing development of it) he is now a bit reserved on the topic.
"It goes without saying that there will be a 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2' in the future," he said. "I mean, the first game sold over a million copies. The sequel is a matter of time and logistics."
Will it use "Doom 3"'s revolutionary graphics engine?
"That would be my expectation."
