Hehe...
Yeah, I was wondering which game was going to end first??

Too bad that Boston lost Schilling. I remember when he and Johnson paired up in 2001 for Arizona. What a series!!!

lol, yeah, we only got one hit, next game we'll get 10. Backe (sp?) performed beautifully and Lidge was lights out. So of course there was only one hit.

That being said, its no kidding someone from a city with two miserable baseball teams would bet on Houston. No way i could ever pick the Cubbies or the White Sox to win the WS :P

Sad thing is, since Steve Bartman is now only allowed in US Cellular Field, he still has the chance to screw that series up whenever the White Sox make the post-season. Oh wait, i dont credit him for the Cubbies loss last year, just a lack of effort on Alou's part to actually go into the stands to get that ball... maybe he needs to take some lessons from Derek Jeter...

I've said it on the other thread... i think Houston is gonna go to the WS. They got an extremely potent lineup and if their pitching stays as good as it is now, they will win the WS by far. probably in 5 games.

LOL Beers, ya i watched the last 8 innings of the Boston game cuz it was so tight. I had the Houston game on the pc following the stats too.

Houston was on such a roll and they were the biggest longshot i figured what the hell, and I thought this was finally Boston's year.

Too funny that the longest world series droughts are Cubs 1908, Boston 1917 and W Sox, 1918 and all Chicago fans do are argue over who sucks worse. Ya that bartman guy was villified here, big time. Poor guy couldn't leave his house. I personally wanna buy him a big fat steak dinner. Hey think about it, everyone will remember him for the rest of his life for an action that was a bat of an eyelash long.

Give the media a thanks for that too, all they did the rest of the game was show him sitting there, nothing like giving people a nice good look at him. Then showing up at his doorstep and video taping his house/work/bathroom window.

GO HOUSTON... WIN WEASEL SOME $$$$.

That has to be one of the greatest playoff pitching duels ever, that no one outside of Houston & St. Louis saw thanks to another 14-inning game at Fenway.

Backe pitched the game of his life at the perfect time. He had a perfect game going until he walked Edmonds in the 5th. Also, give Woody Williams credit too for matching Backe inning for inning until LaRussa brought in Izzy.

You gotta love our ballpark. That long drive into center by Reggie Sanders would have been a homerun anywhere else, but instead Beltran smoothly backpedals up the freakin hill and catches the ball 425ft away. He also robbed Renteria of what could have possibly been an inside the park homerun if he didn't make that fully extended catch in left-center.

That was a huge win and this series is far from over...but I really like our chances.:D

Yes, and Edmonds topped it in game 7.

Edmonds catch which was like a "Willie Mays catch" was fantastic and outstanding. Cannot imagine doing that on your blind side and allowing for the ball velocity and drop. A true pro.

Just one of the great players on the Cardinals' team.
