I'm just guessing here Tommy but some people don't like tv.
When they go to the local bar and grill they push the button
and off goes the tv behind the counter.

I would say most are buying it for practical jokes. Your buddy
invites you and some others over for the game, you wait for
the right moment, hit the button, off goes the tv. everyone
looks at your buddy/owner of the tv remote.

A friend of mine had a watch that had a built in remote. He'd carry around his little manual and change the settings according to TV/VCR/Cable mfr. He'd walk into places and change the channel, turn the TV off, screw with the volume, etc.

It was a great gag for like 20-minutes...

yeah, I guess that it wears off pretty quickly....imagine the fun you oculd have in Best Buy/Circuit City/Future Shop?
