I have an airsoft Electric Thompson. And that guy is less then 10 ft from those guns and has no shirt. 10 feet is the closest you can shoot someone at the field I play at and that is WITH a shirt on. So ya, that must've hurt a helluva lot.

I wouldn't say it is extremely popular but I know a ton of people who play, usually every weekend too.

Agreed, but most of them have cheap-ass springer pistols. The only dude shooting with an AEG looks to be shooting with a bone-stock P90. That's good for about 280 fps. It will still hurtm but not nearly as bad as a paintball from the same range.

Now take into consideration a .2 gram airsoft bb travelling at 280 fps vs. a 5.7 gram paintball travelling 280 fps....obviously, the paintball will do a lot more damage to tissue and cause a lot more pain due to the increase in mass.

As an aside, I was a sponsored paintball player for a few years in the early 90's before I hung 'em up and concentrated on airsoft. Now I have a pretty huge collection of guns, and most of those are over 400 fps. I am fully aware of the intricacies of both games, having been playing both for a combined total of 15 years or so.
