Been thinking about a new HDTV TV?
Well bunky, if it wasn't tough enough to decide between Plasma, LCD or DLP HDTV technology, now this article points out that there is a new competitor in the field. Well not new really, but surely slimmed down anyway.
Here is the link to a story about slim CRT's. These are supposed to be about 16 inches deep and cost way less then current Plasma and LCD screens and you get a better picture to boot. Well okay, that sounds to good to be true, but check it out for yourself.

I wonder if they are going to make PC CRT's too?

I carry twenty-three great wounds all got in battle. Seventy-five men have I killed with my own hands in battle. I scatter, I burn my enemies' tents. I take away their flocks and herds. The Turks pay me a golden treasure, yet I am poor! Because *I* am a river to my people!
i'd check out some newer generation DLP's from Samsung, i haven't been checking anything out in terms of user reviews for the last 6 months but they were higher quality back then.
I also like the projection LCD's from Sony. They have a good look to them and they are a little bit more affordable than the DLP, again this was 6 months to a year ago the last time i was selling them.
I'd stay away from the Slim CRT for a while, you never know what bugs there are gonna be. I know for certain that they are still workin shit out of the DLP and Proj LCD but now there are more pros than cons on those now then a year ago.
I'm sure other people can drop other websites but my fav and most accurate for my equipment is: http://www.audioreview.com
EDIT*
oh yeah, slimmer CRT's will also be most likely heavier too. Sony's 30" widescreen HDTV CRT weighs about 250+ lbs. and it has only 3 inches thickness of glass...
