What kills me about all this questioning is that most AMERICANS can't answer questions about the US! Ask most Americans to name the capitals of each state and I'll bet you get some pretty interesting answers. I'm not sure about Canadians though...

Personally, I think it's somewhat important to know a bit about other countries (as a citizen), but no need to know the whole nations history. It does help to understand a country though to know what it has been through and how it evolved.

And I think it's funny how some people can hate the US just because of President Bush...

Yeah...don't hate us. Just keep hating bush! Hell...half of the country hates him too!

I do have to agree, however, that a surprising amount of Americans are freaking morons when it comes to knowledge about the history of this country.

All right, except that the quarter can now have all kinds of strange things apart from the moose. Including a red-colored poppy in memory of the fallen.
The dime has a sailboat (Bluenose II).

The queen IS the only animal appearing on all coins.

Well, it was supposed to be a question for the Canadians, but oh well.

Actually, all 4 were shot...3 at close range, and then JFK from a distance. President Reagan was shot with a .22 pistol by John F. Hinckley Jr.
