Lot of truth to Random's statement.

Keep in mind that different personality types tend to gravitate more toward certain cars. This will influence how well maintained the cars are and how abused they are in their daily driving. How often do you see Camry owners out hotrodding their cars?

That said, there's more to a car than reliability. There's, looks, performance, luxury, etc. If a car is boring (i.e. slow), I don't care how reliable it is, I won't buy it. Japanese make fine daily drivers but they just bore me to tears.

I gotta say... the toyoya pick up truck is the toughest vehicle on the planet... Did anyone see the episode of 5th gear where they tried to destroy one? The set it on fire, threw it into the ocean, drove it into objects, and set it on top of a twenty story building and then blew the building up... but it still worked... it was cool....

How does that represent what most truck owners do with their trucks? Does the average owner set their truck on fire, drive through the surf and run into random buildings? Further, did the show then repeat the same tests for the other brands of trucks out there? If not, then the testing meant nothing.
