Over There

Postby PudriK » Mon Jul 25, 2005 7:47 pm

Anyone planning on watching the new series Over There?

Of course, the whole idea of making a TV series about a current war is no great stretch from movies made during WWII.

But from what I've seen in commercials and these clips, it seems like an over-wrought, over-dramatic interpretation of war.

Now, I haven't been "over-there," so I'm curious to hear what anyone who has thinks of this show. The soldiers sure don't sound like any of the enlisted guys I know.

its funny, i was just thinking about this idea, and how during ww1 and ww2 there were movies, tv series, a lot of times comedies, made about the war, during the war. But... nothing currently seemed to be in development. I dont know if it is just a different world now.. and not PC to joke about, or have a movie about the current wars?? The more i think about it, that is probably the reason.

I wonder how much the U.S. army is involved in that. Could be just another propaganda tool, like Tom Clancy novels.

It is on Fox. Of course it's Propaganda (capital P intentional). I was flipping channels when I caught it half way through. I had no idea which channel I was on but watching I'm thinking, 'cheesy.. propaganda and it looks like it's a Fox show' Sure enough.. BINGO!! We have a winner! And my prize? Well.. I rewarded myself with several more hours of BF2 madness! Woot! GO ME!
