Good live FREE video news feeds?

Postby Casus » Tue Mar 18, 2003 11:22 am

Well, since war is about to break out, and I am stuck in a datacenter for 18 hours a day, I was wondering if anyone had any good links for REALTIME LIVE news feeds, so I can keep up with the news? No TV here in the DC so I need to count on the Internet for my news coverage.

I've got radio feeds, but I was hoping for something like a live CNN video feed, etc.

Any links or suggestions?

I want realtime feed, now pre-recorded or already happened stuff, I want to replace a TV with a feed so I can watch it while at work when the war begins.

Are you kidding me?

Just as in the golf war or better, you'll see real-time shit happening, CNN has a boat load of folks over there ready to cover the action, as do most of the other networks.

Sure, some stuff will be censored, but the bottom line is I want to be able to watch the news live, not late at night, and do it over the net.

put a tv card on your home pc and stream the vid to your workstation.
In college I did that so I could watch my team play while I was in class.

You have to remember 9/11 though. Remember how tied up the net was? You couldn't even get on the major news sites until the next day, and only then because they had created special webpages that were nothing but text.

I may be wrong, but I don't think real-time net coverage, at least in terms of video, will be feasable as a sole means of info. But since war is a big deal, you'd have a good case to petition for a tv and cable to be put into your datacenter.

http://www.msnbc.com/news/870749.asp?cp1=1

Just when the page loads up, look to the right, there is a free video, its not much but once the video opens you can scroll through a list of 20 videos all pretty recent developements, this is the best I've seen casus. Hope its what your looking for.
