US Army, Guard taking care of business!

It looks like the military has taken over and they are getting the job done. Right now they moving people out of the superdome at super fast pace. Airlifts, helicopter after helicopter just filling up with people and taking off. Chinooks, Blackhawks, Hueys.

Scratch that, it's the convention center that is getting emptied out quickly.

They would have been down there days ago, but the people running the show didn't ask for them. My buddy just deployed Friday morning, flew from NH to LA on Friday afternoon. His unit got the call Thursday afteroon, so it took exactly 24 hours for them to to arrive in LA after getting the call. If FEMA has asked for them on the day of the storm, they would have been there the next morning. Every state was ready to send Guards at a moments notice, but they had to wait for FEMA to ask.

The state has to request help from the feds, they just can't come uninvited. The Feds support the state and local governments not run them.
