Thats 2 good Penguin's players that retired in the last week, plus they are up for sale, things are looking grim for Pittsburgh fans.

he should have called it quits like 6 years ago, i being a PGH native....no one cares about the penguins, no one cares about the Pirates, GO STEELERS, at least they were worth buying a stadium for, the Pirates haven't had a winning season since '92, and the penguins since '91, and '92 the cup years, its about time to get rid of them both, and now the penguins want a new arena, sell em to another city, just a few would actuaaly care

Well, he retired before so ... this was expected and not too shocking.
Mario is great but not the player he was, unfortunately. I think he is 40 yrs old? The NHL has a lot of good young stars rising up to take the reigns with Forsberg still playing, Ovechkin, Crosby, Fleury (pens goalie), etc...

If your not from Canada, Eastern Europe, Minnesota, Philly, NJ or NY.. hockey would'nt have much a face. It is not an "American" sport and not the most popular sport. Mostly due to geography and kids who are given the opportunity to play while growing up.
But to those of us who love the sport will agree it is the greatest sport on the planet. The most exciting, hard hitting and takes the most talent.

I'll be rooting for the Steelers in the SB, and not just because they're AFC. The Steelers have been a quality team for long time, they deserve a SB shot. I'm also a big fan of Bill Cowher and his old school football persona. I wouldn't trade away Bill Bellichick, but there's something about Cowher to me that just represents football. Cowher just looks like he'd be at home on a battlefield, leading a bunch of soldiers to take a hill, or wipe out a bunker.
The Steelers really took it to the next level in the playoffs, and that's what SB teams do, they peak at the right time.

Yeah, thats true. The Bills sucked the big one once again this year so I have nothing to really look forward to when it comes to the playoffs. But this year I am predicting the Steelers to win it. The game is not in Seattle so the Seahawks don't have their fans. The Bus is in his hometown, I bet he has a good game from the heart. My prediction: Steelers 24-10
