I really enjoyed the second one, more than the first and I hope they keep it up for this third one.

I felt like they screwed up a few details in the Dark Phoenix Rising storyline when they adapted it to XMen3, but it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the movie for me. I mean, hell... the storyline and backgrounds for much of the XMen movies aren't even close compared to the comics. But, that's fine by me.

I figure, in order to make the movie versions appeal to both the comic reading and casual movie going audience, you have to make a few compromises that the die hard fans may or may not approve of. This shouldn't be a totally new concept for comic readers, though. How many worlds and alternate realities exist in the Marvel and DC universes just so they can tell different stories or repeat origin stories?

Just consider this a re-telling of the Spiderman story... as yet another version of it.

Sorry I don't see it. The suit there is black, the suit on the trailer is black. What's the trouble? They have just made it a black version of the first suit give or take. It like the people that got annoyed by the size of the S on the front of supermans novelty gimp suit. What difference does it make?

Worry about the plot, the suit's just window dressing :)

Because it's not supposed to be a black version of the original suit. It's supposed to have a completely different design. I wouldn't expect people who aren't fans of the comics to understand. I grew up with things being a certain way, and when they bring it to the big screen they've altered it to almost an unrecognizable form.

To me it's like this - Why do they bother keeping anything even semi-original? They might as well be about a kid named Billy Johnson that drank magic spider venom and calls himself "Arachna-Dude!" while wearing a hot pink man thong and cowboy boots.

I like the Spider-Man films though I'm still rather disappointed in them. The original story elements are what I liked and changing them to doesn't make it better. I understand why they do it - the masses wouldn't get into it as much without the changes. It's just disappointing that there isn't enough faith in the original material.

As it is Marvel has already screwed up the Spider-Man I remember since I stopped collecting so I'm not too upset about the film changes.

For a decent rundown on the various re-tellings of Spiderman's origins, changes in his powers and abilities, etc check out the wiki entry:

You can't adapt everything into a movie form. When something has been in the making for nearly a year in a comic book and you want to adapt it to a movie you will need to change it. Also, some of the origins of comic book characters are out-dated. Powers granted by radioactivity don't fly very well as we all know that radiation pretty much does nothing more than kill you. So, it was a genetically altered spider rather than a radio active one. Venom will most likely be a genetic experiment or a new form of organic body armor developed for the military rather than a creature from another planet.

I believe in the comic books the alien symbiote attaches itself to Spiderman first. And then he seeks the assistance of Doctor Connors whom studies it. And then fights the Shocker and almost lets him die. Then the symbiote melts or falls off of Peter Parker and it finds Eddie Brock. Some fo the cartoon I have watched didn't really coincide with the comic book. Which leaves me a little confused. and the symbiote came from a space craft?

Aestheitcs is my main concern. Just make it look like what I'm used to. As I said they already borked the storyline, so I'm not too upset.
