The truly sad part of the story is in the first sentence: "Five fifth-grade students face criminal charges..."

That will ensure they grow up with a healthy sex life.

Why aren't charges being brought up on the school, teacher or adult who was supposed to be in the classroom who left them unsupervised. I know when I was in school the teacher never left the classroom unless another adult was present to stay with us. Plus at that age I was still in the phase of hating boys I can't even imagine sex that young. Makes me sick and scared all at the same time.

There's no need for any charges. The situation doesn't have to be criminalized at all. The only criminal here is the person that called the police.

I agree with Chacal and nymh. There is no crime here except leaving a classroom of 5th graders alone for more then two minutes.

i just think its funny that people are getting so wound up over it, its not as if one of the kids was 16 or 18 or something, they were all rather young, the part about having sex infront of the entire class is a bit much, but if they want to have sex at their age in private let them, it just means they're sex gods by the time their 18.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we let kids this young have sex in school, I'm saying this should have been resolved between the school and the parents.
