Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Hey I'm thinking about getting a LCD TV and wondering what you guys had for suggestions. BestBuy has an Insignia 32" HD LCD for $630. Anyone heard of them? Looking to not break the bank.

I was a little suspicious of the specs when you mentioned the price, but it does say it's an HDTV, although it sounds like a 720p native resolution. Most LCDs are 720p native, though, so you're not losing that much. It's got the HD tuner built in, so you can hook up an HD antenna and pick up the Over-The-Air digital signals rather than having to have cable (or pay extra for the broadcast channels on HD). Of course, given your locations (Winchester and Grand Forks) you may not have much of a choice on that. HDMI and DVI give you the ability to hook up cable boxes, game consoles, or computers (DVI) directly, which makes it into a big gaming system.
I'd say the big difference between this system and a more expensive one from Sony or another big name manufacturer is the number of the various types of ports. Yes, the more expensive systems have more than one port, but how many people really use them all? OK, I do...at least on one TV - HDMI in from cable box and upscanning DVD player and component in from Xbox 360, but that may be the exception, not the rule.
Nuttin' wrong with that I can see. I might do a quick web search on the Insignia to find out if there are consistent problems with it, but otherwise, looks like you found a good deal.

I just got a Sony Rear Proj HDTV 37" at Best Buy for $850. A real steal! So I bet you should be able to find a better deal Charlie.
