they keep building them and they keep burning them.. it just dont make sense to me... if all those houses burnt to ashes they would all be re built in 2 or 3 months tops..
you would think an effort could be made to keep the underbrush in check, and make a few fire stops... like a gravel road.. this would help contain these fires. It seems this happens more often than we get good snows in richmond

It's pretty humbling though, isn't it? All the technology we have and when push comes to shove we still can't put out a forest fire. Good luck to your brother.

Staying for now! I would have been gone long before I could get those pics. How the heck is he gonna sleep at night. I wouldn't be able to. I hope all works out for the best.

You can't clear underbrush; that would be "hurting the environment".

the fire is farther than it looks...if he's not worried then i'm not either. The pics are amazing, he does have a nice zoom lens.
