I expected them to release it and then ask everyone to buy a booster pack that fixes everything, and lets not forget adds a single map.

EA Manager: Go On...

Games designer: Well it seems that the game is fucked.

EA Manager: Fucked?

Games designer: Yes it's a tecnical term, it means it's crappier than a bag full of monkeys with Diahrrea.

EA Manager: Can't we release it anyway? We've already lost 95 million this year we could use the sales...

Games designer: Erm well it's a free game.

EA Manager: Sorry you appeared to be speaking German there. Try that again.

Games designer: It's free, people can play it for free.

EA Manager: Nope still not getting it.

Games designer: Well we give them the game for free, then we charge them for useless crap that they will want to buy to disguise the fact that they have shit aiming abilities.

EA Manager: So we get money?

Games designer: Well no actually, the Beta testers all said the stuff you had to pay for was wank and said they'd never pay for it.

EA Manager: So basically we give them the game for free and in return they whine about how shit we are?

Games designer: In a nut-shell yes.

EA Manager: To quote the prophet 'what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.'

Games designer: Shall I pick up my things on the way out?

EA Manager: Don't bother, we'll just feed them to the alligator once it's done digesting you.

I got an e-mail lastnight saying that I was in the beta, I will have to check it out tonight when I get home from work.

Definitely jump in if you get the invite. The game is fun and very different. I can't say much as there is a non-disclosure agreement and they constantly scan or google looking for people blabbing about the beta.

Perhaps all of us in the beta can get together on Vent some Friday night, start a first level character and hopefully get on the same server.
