How much do you have to pay to play online? If you do have to pay what is the point?

It is amazing how people do not understand why they have to charge a monthly rate.

Not hard, they are running huge servers, with huge amounts of bandwidth. Their profits in actual game sales would be gone after 1 month because of the cost of running these servers.

I persnaly find MMORPGs boring and pointless. however, if I like them, i would pay the money to play them.
