Akella has become famous for its marine games based on cutting edge 3D sea technology. Our company now offers a new level of realism and graphics in the upcoming simulator PT Boats: Knights of the Sea. Start your career in a mosquito fleet of the Allied Forces, Russia or Germany and take part in bloody World War II battles.

Take command of a boat and control each member of the crew. Shoot down aircraft using machineguns and anti-aircraft guns, torpedo hostile destroyers and supply ships, "entertain" uninvited guests with cannon fire, plan group attacks – essentially, do whatever you like. Any operation can be entrusted to the AI or handled on your own.

PT Boats: Knights of the Sea is powered by an improved version of the STORM 2 used in the award wining Pirates of the Caribbean. The STORM 2.5 engine enables the creation of unique special effects like ocean waves from explosions, tracing the tracks of various types of boats, illustrating the boats gliding, realistic collision damage, damage from assorted types of ammunition and so much more! Our close cooperation with 1Ñ/Maddox Games, the leading flight simulator developers and renowned for IL-2 Sturmovik, allowed us to create historically accurate and detailed aircraft models.

Features:

Never before seen 3D water quality
Historically accurate WWII war-machines
New level of realism for ship physics
Choose single missions or build a career as an officer in campaigns through the entire war
Control different crewmen on your boat - from the gunner to the commander
Realistic ship damage
Highly detail 3D landscapes
Control Allied, German or Russian boats - everything can be under you command!
Up to 16 players in multiplayer game

Anyone remember PT 109 on the Mac. Great game! Have yet to play a modern game which as accurately simulates navigating a small boat. For example, Destroyer Command didn't show any of the information that would be available on a basic nav chart, and it's damage model was joke. I hope the Akella team has played PT 109.

Played the old school PT 109 back in the day...Was a great idea but really buggy and lacking today's graphics.

I normally end up getting ww2 sub sims....this would be a nice change...

I don't know man. Akella basically abandoned Pirates of The Caribbean upon release, and the publisher Bethesda hasn't done anything either.

If Akella can actually support this game, it could be cool.

Pirates of The Carribbean was a game created as support for a movie... my guess is that they figured no one would buy the game, just as i do
The only game i have ever bought related to a movie was Mortal Kombat... about 7 years ago

Ughhh, not it's not. PoTC is Sea Dogs 2 with the Pirates franchise slapped on top. It was in development for years as SD2 before Disney came along and purchased the rights and made it PoTC.

It's a kick ass game as well. A lot of people reported bugs though(I encountered none myself) and neither Akella or Bethsoft acknowledge that they even made the game. There's no forums and no patches for the game, and the "official" website is a woefully inadequate slapdash affair filled with quotes and links to previews. Hell. the fans of the game have hijacked the old original Sea Dogs forum to talk about PoTC for lack of a better place.
