if you have 512MB of ram, go for a new video card. I know I had my system all ready with sick parts in it, I mean really good fast hardware, I got a new vidcard and tripled my 3dmark score. So I'dd say look into a vid card....

how much ram do you have?

What are specs for your machine Tigga? I'm actually thinking you should grab another 1/2 gig of ram. But it also depends on the rest of yoru components.

A radeon 9000 won't run the game much faster, no matter how much RAM you have.

Get a new video card, THEN upgrade your ram down the road, because upgrading your ram now will do little to improve performance.

without knowing your system specs, i'd also say get a video card. 512mb ram is enough to run this game fairly well.

Hey tigga since you're local to me, browse the forums at

More often than not, you find some really good deals on parts, some used, some new from other users like myself. I've sold stuff there and bought parts for my current system there as well on those forums, same for all my friends, hell I bought parts for a complete mid range system that totalled $800, would have been $1200 retail. Canadian dollars of course.

I would suggest getting a new vid card too... 512 is enough... When I was a computer technician, I would always suggest upgrading the video card too if the ram was already 512MB... get the vid card, then the ram if you want.

Get a new graphics card, I've had 512MB RAM since I got the game but I had a crappier card. I had a GeForce 3 something or other, and I had to run the game in 800 x 600 with low textures, I went up to a GeForce 4 Ti4200 and now I run the game full blast 1200 x something resolution

I have a gig of ram, thats 1024MB, but I took one stick out and used just 512mb and I'll tell you, there really isn't much difference, just close all your background applications before playing your game and you won't really need a gig of ram. I have DDR266 and I'm actually getting 512mb DDR333 just for a few months til I upgrade further, but still, 512-1024 and you're good totally, a new video card is where you would notice the difference. I'll tell you, if you got more ram, your game may load up faster, but the actual performance of that game will be almost exactly the same as it is now, but if you get a new video card, the game will take just as long to load, but you'll have much better 3d performance which is what you're after.

Go for the vid card. What cards are you considering? How much do you have to spend on a card?

I went ram with my first upgrade. (it was free for me)

I had a XP2100 with 512K 2700 ram and a Nvidia 440mx card. I used leftover ram from new G4's at work. That bummped me up to 1 gig of Ram filling all slots running @ 2100mhz. I was loading and have been loading since in the top 5 till the delay was set (made all the diffrence in maps like aberdeen in tank grabbing, kinda feel like your in a special club when you have the map half way loaded and you hear on TS whats up next?). Wake island use to stutter for me when the Ships were near. All that went away with the Gig of ram.

I just up'd my Video to an ATI 9600 Pro 128. Frames run better but nothing i would brag about in the game, the effect seem more intense but left me wishing i had held out for a 9800pro. (speedy uses my work dell laptop running an intel 2.4 with the 440mx card and a gig of ram and it runs even to my home pc with the textures knocked down a level.)However i now have the Veiw setting at 100% and being able to run that high seems to have made a big diffrence. Planes dont just pop out of the gray sky i can see the outline coming and silloettes in fog are viewable from a greater distance.

I made the change of video recently. I was already ranked on page 0 before that but now have moved toward the middle. I dont know if the card made the diff or if since i learned about the new stat server i been trying to play a bit smarter. Speedys been using my laptop and it hasn't had any changes. He's moved from 170 to something like 60 so i tend to think your equipment thou needs to be good its really the skill and desire of the player.
