Regaining an option

Postby Ryan » Thu Dec 18, 2003 1:50 am

Recently I unclicked a box in the download diagloge when downloading a file (see pic below) and I wanted to get it back. Its a hassle when files download themselved without asking, not to mention not given the option to save, open, etc.

Any ideas on how to get this back??

Just download another file temporarily and when the d/l box pops up recheck the box. I did the same thing and it drove me nuts...

Open up IE properites (via Control panel, or tools heading on IE taskbar), and on advanced maybe try resetting it to defaults?

actually just open up "my computer" then go to tools, folder options, file types(you need to know what type of file you are making this change to),next find the type in the list, select it and then click on advanced, make sure there is a check in the "confirm open after download" and you should be all set, this i did while using XP pro, but should work for other versions of windows.

Ahh yes, Thanks Joe. That worked quite nicely.
