Athens 2004 discussion thread

Postby ShellShock » Sun Aug 15, 2004 2:33 pm

Post everything related to the olympics in this thread.

I will start off by saying that the Puerto Ricans beat the US in basketball by 19 points. Considering how much our NBA players get paid, I expect them to play more like professionals and less like high-schoolers.

We all know the Canadians win at the Winter olympics, not the summer games. :p

True.

But I believe that Alexandre Despatie has some good chances for the Diving competitions.

Seems like our Women Beach Volley Ball team was doing fine though.

One of my favorite sports is womans gymastics. Because for once there's nothing wrong with watching 14 year olds spread their legs. :D

Winter Olympics > Summer Olympics... except that pussy-ass figure skating... anything judged needs to go. I'm sure if you go to ESPN.com or any other sporting website they'll have medal counts under the Olympics portion of the site. Last i heard the Chinese were whooping some ass. Nothing like one communist country to take over the sporting dominance after the Soviets changed their ways.

I think I like the Winter Olympics better, it has more of the really weird events like curling and stuff like that. I like seeing people who great at sports that almost no one ever watches actually get their moment in the sun.
