He he people are so dumb. We have those barriers in my home town. Think I am gonna have to start filming them now :D

Quite impressed at how tough they are mind. They don't look that sturdy at a glance.

That's kind of evil though. If you don't know where those poles are, and you're following the bus closely, you'll never see them till they pop up, and it's too late then. Anytime you are in a small car behind a big vehicle (like a bus) you can't see shit, signs, lights, etc.
We don't have anything like that here. What's the deal on them, why do they drop for busses and not for cars?

It's for town centre bus routes where the road is offically pedestrianised but they make allowance for buses. Trust me these guys knew what they were doing and they didn't do it by accident; These things are clearly marked well in advance. Also notice the way they all accelrate hard to try and get through before the barrier comes up. These are the same kind of guys that sneak into the car pool lane and try to skip traffic then whine when they get fined. They deserve everything they get...

The funny thing about the first one is that if they just drove up on the curb the tiniest amount they could almost certainly drive round it anyway as their car is so small.

Gata love my wide open spaces, funny video! The bus probably has a sensor in it that just lets the bars know when it comes by, i would hope there are signs saying that one of those things are in the road ahead!

Nah it's all electronic. The bus is chipped so it automatically drops when the bus gets close then rises after it's passed. They also have a keypad so that lorries making deliveries and mail vans can get through too without the chip.

Oh and you can see the sign for it at the beginning of the video. It's a big flashing red circle ;)

It's good to see that there is a shallow end to the gene pool in England too and not just here. :P

On the other hand, they have to modify that thing so it isn't dangerous. That's pretty much the same as a low-speed car crash, dangerous for whiplash and concussions. Look at the woman who gets her baby out of the car. What if that baby gets hurt?

Then it's the mothers fault. Christ no-one takes responsibility for their own actions anymore. If the babies mother wasn't trying to be a jackass and avoid traffic by going where she shouldn't then there'd be no problem.

I fail to see why the government should have to make provision for every idiotic action its people want to make. If she drove the wrong way down a free way should the government be responsible for that too? Or if she decides her car is amphibious and drives into a river? This litigation culture is insane. The search for anyone to blame other than the person who is actually responsible.

It's like wet floors. There was a time when if you slipped on a wet floor you would apologise to the janitor for not looking where you were going and ruining his hard work. You'd have been embarassed. Now a person slips on a wet floor and it's lawsuit time. Like it's someone else's fault that they weren't looking where they were stepping. Ok so if the floor wasn't wet they might not have slipped, but equally if they opened there damn eyes they wouldn't have slipped either. The little give away signs that the floor is wet, like there is a janitor with a mop and bucket, the air smells like cleaning fluid or there is a sign that says, wet floor...

You can't protect people from their own stupidity. It doesn't work.
