Frickin America!!!! Yeah sue the tow truck driver, its his fault. Sheesh no one ever wants to place blame where it truly lies. Yeah its the bartenders fault. Forget the fact that he was a grown man. When I hit 21 and started hittin the bars I cut myself off at 2 or at most 3 if I was there a long time. No matter how much I got razzed for being a "sissy" or "lush" or whatever I knew when to stop when I was 21, hancock was 28 years old, he knew how much was too much. He knew..... his fault, no one else's.

RIP Josh, hopefully people learn from your mistake........

None of it is going to bring him back, he's gone and there's nothing that can change that; Guilt does terrible things to people. All these what ifs are a waste of time, the world turns and there's no way you can turn it back better to just be thankful for the time you had than tear yourself apart over the time you lost.

2 x legal limit + speeding + talking on phone = blame everyone else except the driver.

I read this earlier and was floored, how can people be so stupid?

If the tow-truck driver wasn't where he was, Hancock would have hit the disabled car that the driver responded to. Hancock might be alive then but he surely would have killed the other driver. It shouldn't get far in court but we'll see.

I would like to sue ALCOA, for producing the cans that contained the liquid stupidty that my brain-dead, depressed, simpleton, super-star son couldn't resist.

Oh, and who makes the ink on those cans? They're getting sued, too.

I was at the ballgame tonight... had a crazy thought that i mentioned to my buddy. The seats i had were about 4 rows from the field (outfield box seats) and i said to my buddy, "im thinking about jumping on to the field, running across, assume im going to get tackled, get tackled, go to jail, and then when i get out of jail by posting bail, i would sue the team, the builders of the ballpark because i would most certainly sprain my ankle, sue the person/s who tackled me for breaking my glasses."

That would seem like a logical complaint in regards to my breaking the law according to his father's standards.

He died because he broke the law. He was drinking and driving. He's dead because it is ILLEGAL to drink and drive and his impairment caused his inability to process how to avoid a random but not uncommon occurrence. Some around here would call me a fascist because I believe that when you break a law you should be punished for it.

The real tragedy behind all of this is that Hancock died and his dad is dragging his "good" name through the mud, making things worse for other people because his son made a fatal decision.

The father should also sue himself for producing dumbass offspring that endangers other people.

:P No, he died because he was a dumbass driving his SUV at high speed while intoxicated and talking on his phone and not wearing a safety belt. He would have died even if there was no law against any of that.

It's most definitely about money.

His family is thinking "There goes our cash cow, our honey-pot, our meal-ticket. Now that he's gone (no matter who's at fault) we need to cash in. Someone needs to pay for our loss."

It's about lack of responsibility. His family can't take the responsibility of their son making some bad decisions and throwing common sense out the window.

People get away with murder now-a-days, and expect to be compensated when their dream life is threatened.

How many of us yack on cell phones while we drive? Fiddle with the radio, change channels, hold a cup of coffe in our hands while we drive? In my neck of the woods people do this (and worse) all while driving 100mph, cutting people off left and right, practically driving down the sidewalk to get one car length ahead of the next guy, with little or no regard for "the consequences".

Then they stand defiantly against the truth and claim they're not the ones to blame.

I saw a special report on TV about reporters nabbing people passing stopped school buses. Lights flashing, other traffic stopped and these turkeys they nab blow right past everyone within feet of kids getting out of the bus.

Then when pulled over and questioned every one of these "special, priviliged people" shouted and argued defiantly about their rights to drive, blah, blah, blah. One retard didn't even have a license, but claimed he was most aware of his surroundings and had more than enough "skill" to drive a car. Turns out he was under-age and had basically stolen his father's car.

Welcome to America. I'm sure one of those mongoloids is talking to their lawyers now.

haha well said ZOG, people are so quick to blame someone and they also make their kids enablers. Driving through WISC for work i scanned the radio stations and there was a junior high kid found with a gun in his backpack. They were interviewing the mom and she was totally like "oh I guess he was upset about being bullied at school"

I was listening like WTF????

The sad thing is that these cases even make it past the lawyers office. They should talk to 1 lawyer who should tell them to go home and let it go. If you want to blame someone blame the lawyers. They are the ones that take these cases, presumably against their better judgement cos they know that it's a bullshit case, simply to line their own pockets.

Lawyers are about raping justice without leaving a mark. They are pretty much single handely responsible for this compensation culture and the damaging effect it has on society. What difference does it make to them that the case is idiotic when they are going to get paid either way.
