favorite/best guitarist?

Postby Edogg » Mon Jan 20, 2003 1:42 pm

This poll was inspired by the two previous music threads.
I think it is interesting to see what kind of music people like.
just vote for whoever is the best or who is your favorite, depending on how you want to interpret the question. if you vote other, please post who

my favorite guitarist would have to be Tom morello from Rage Against the machine/audioslave. I really think this guy was the jimi Hendrix of the 90's. all of his guitar solos are completely original. He makes sounds out of his guitar I never knew could come out of a guitar. He can make turntable sounds for crying out loud. He may not necessarily be the best best ever, but definitley one of the top 25 of all time.

Angus Young, no question for me. I touched his guitar! I think he is the most richious mother fucker ever. the way he just walked around the stage like a big dork while he rocked everyones pants off. If I could play my guitar like Angus Young I'dd be rich already.:D

All those are good choices... the three that I would list would be Hendrix, Van Halen, and Clapton. Page just did too much studio overlays to replicate in concert, although he was amazing (yeah, I hold it against him).

The better poll for me is best drummer, being someone who played the drums. The answer to that for me is none other than Neil Peart. Just a very big fan of his.

i agree, zakk wylde is scary good. I saw him live at ozzfest, and he was very impressive. I wanted to put him up on the list but there wasnt enough room. I also wanted to put up randy rhodes.

And for my favorite drummer, i would have to say jon bonham from Led zeppelin. Also the guy from Rush is very good but i cant think of his name right now.

Aim High

I've seen Black Sabbath Live once, Ozzy once, Triumph,(old Canadian band), Rush (from my home town) more times than I can remember. Van Halen twice ( with David Lee Roth), The Stones twice, Iron Maiden once. Too many more bands that I forgotten them. The best guitar player without a doubt live has to be Eddie Van Halen!!!! He's absolutely incredible live. Missed Santana when he came to Toronto, he's very talented too. Ozzy had Randy Rhodes when he came to town (remember Crazy Train, that's him playing guitar on that song)Unfortunatly he dyed very young. Too many great guitarists to mention in one thread

Good call Aim on Eddie, I caught them live during their '84 tour, but now he is a down and out drunkin batsid with no hips and no wife.........Hey N dont bust ur parents balls, not sure what they r into. Shit I love Dean Martin, coolest dude to ever live on this planet. Temptations were unreal too.

i agree that van halen is very talented at the geeeetar, thats why i put him in the list. unfortunately, i never was able to get into their music. There is just something about their music i dont like. To top it off they had frizzy hair and wore spandex in the 80's, which is a big no no with me.
