Raven Shield

I'm in the EXACT same boat as High, playing bF as much as possible but Vice City has got quite a lot of my attention right now. Those damn vigilante missions are giving me fits!!!
Anyways, I just got Raven last night, so I haven't even really played it yet. Sooner or later though, I'll be in there with you guys taking down some tangos.

I really want to do some single-player before I expose my royal noob-ness to you up-and-coming experts.

You obviously haven't seen us play!:help:
I played half of Vice City on PS2. I made the mistake of doing it immedialtey after finishing GTAIII.
It was too much, I stopped and sold it. Maybe this summer I will give it another chance on the PC.

I looked for you guys last night on the Raven Shield TeamSpeak channel but found no one. I ended up playing bf1942 until 2:30 a.m. my time. Was great fun and "ran into" Freedom.

I played a little single-player last night. The novice level is NOT easy. Do you guys go so far as creating plans, waypoints, go-codes, etc?

........... and thanks for fixing up my tank last night too. I regret staying up so late the night before my first day at a new job.
For the most part the Raven Shield group plays a little earlier than the main Battlefield group plays. 6PM to 11PM is probably the main time on Raven Shield.
P.S. - The terrorists on Novice are NOT easy. They are still great shots. But as to your other questions, we do establish strategies, etc. but it is in-game as we play. There are no "way points" or "go codes" in multiplayer. We are still learning strategies and are getting better - but we have a lot of growing room for sure.
About the only planning I do with my AI counterparts (in single and multiplayer) is to tell them to "hold position" in key choke points, thereby reducing the chance of terrorists circling around from behind.

Hey HighTimber,
check this diagram out:

We would like to try and master this tactic some day; but we need to work on our timing and hand/eye cordination.
Oh yeah patience and teamwork is a key when playing this game. Once everyone knows what their role is and what strategy or tactics to use when approaching certain situations, gameplay will be most gratifying.

That is so cool. I'd love to see us get that organized so each of us would know who's R1, R2, B1, B2, etc...
Organized warfare.....what a concept! I get so frustrated in bf1942 when we rarely ever attack an enemy flag in force. It's usually one guy at a time with no definite plan.

I played VC all the way through on PS2, the easiest way to get the vigilante missions is to get all 100 pkgs and use the Hunter/Apache.
Flying the thing takes some practice, and blowing yourself up with the rockets is easy at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun.
Anyway, on the Vigilante missions you eventually end up facing about 3 carloads of bad guys, in a vehicle like the cop car, you get blown up by their automatic weapons. The tank isn't fast enough to keep up. The hunter? Just blow up the car with a missile... no one's left! Lather, rinse, repeat. Also the chin gun is VERY effective and won't kill you either.

I actually just got through the vigilante missions last night. I spent some time and collected up 40 RPG's. When I then did the vigilante missions, instead of chasing down the baddies, I would get a ahead of them and wait around a corner. As soon as they pass, and RPG for each car ends each level pretty quickly, The quick kills meant I could also manage my wanted levels fairly well so I never wet above one or two stars.
