Pretty much agreed with PA across the board. I wouldn't hessitate one iota if it was a war I felt was justified or even necessary. I truly feel like our focus got skewed and think we should re-evaluate and refocus our presence in Afghanistan. I do feel like we can't just walk out of Iraq... there's a helluva mess there that we can't just walk away from unfortunately. Would be nice to, but we've made it slightly messier in our wake.

i checked the navy.mil, usmc.mil, army.mil, af.mil, uscg.mil and none of them (to my searching) listed women on active duty.... since it is 2005 i would ASSUME that there are more women particiapting in the armed forces than ever before? With the lack of women in the U.S. military, any report of them being injured / killed is highlighted in the news... ex PFC jessica Lynch (tv movies/book deals/ tv interviews) and locally in WI. Michelle Witmer was the first women killed (air nation guard) in action in our states history, they are making a full sived bronze bust of her.

If they want the same "good ole boy club" if you will, then send them off to battle and when 500,000 women die for this country.. then i guess we can call it even?

As a member of the USCG, I'll tell you that our active duty force is at least 15% women. I haven't seen the exact percentage in a long time, but I suspect it's higher. I've served with many women, in most jobs they pull their weight along the same bell curve as the men. Some are awesome, some are useless, most in the middle. The military is full of jobs tha don't require much in the way of body strength, but do require technical skill, stamina, and character. Sure, on the ship we had to make allowances for women on damage control teams and boarding teams. It's a good thing the military is still majority male, because there are still many jobs or COLLATERALS which require brawn. But there are enough other jobs that don't for the women to be useful.

There are plenty of women in "front line" positions already, from translators operating with the grunts, to helicopter pilots.

Shoudl we draft them? Hell yeah. Perhaps there would be more allowances for them to avoid service, i.e. mothers would be given more slack than fathers. I'd be willing to bet a greater portion of the general female population would not bea ble to meet the physical standards than the general male population.

And in the end, we would most likely be drafting foot soldiers, which are as of now, only men, so when filling needs it would probably work out that more men would be drafted.

Sorry this is off-topic but... At this point, Cav I'm pretty sure everyone else will look like Rambo compared to me. It feels like it's been just THAT long since I've played. Nothing against the game, just got burnt out on it.
