NovaLogic ships its modern-combat, 150-player online shooter to stores.

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

I DL'ed the newest the other day. I tried a few servers, it may be that all the servers I tried were idiots running them on their home computer and Road Runner.

Do they still have that 14-day trial offer?
I have downloaded that and ever since then been playing PlanetSide! I just renew the trial account before it expires (Every week or so) and it doesnt expire! And there are no game locks etc... But with the Program download that I got, my friends can use their actuall sudcriptions to play on my trial program. So i guess it is like the whole program that you get... You might want to try it, it's been working for me!

Nothing will dethrone Battlefield 1942... maybe Battlefield 2 but the king will remain. It is the holy grail when it comes to online FPS gaming.

I was int eh planetside BETA, and wow did it suck back then. i have been thinking of downloading the trial to see where it stands now.

The problem for me was it was just way too arcady. I would be at least happy with more realistic weapons.

I just can't wait for a true onlien battlefield, like wwiionline was supposed to be. From the Q&A's I have read from the makers of bf42 and bf2, they see the nest step as going mmolfps.

JO does run nicely at 100 players for me . I still play BFV but JO is a different beast . Has highs and lows . Lot more teamwork is enforced by the way you capture objectives .As far as planetside . Not a big fan .

Absolutely. It sucked back then.

They have sence changed quite a bit, and made this game fun. I reccomend the trial, but never the less, its a 1.5 gig download, and takes up 3 gb of HDD space.. so its your call.

I downloaded the JO demo. It doesn't seem that bad. The graphics are okay, but not quite as good as BF1942. The sounds really need work though. But I am definatly not the one to analyze it after only playing it an hour or so...

Will have to try this out when I get home. The above screenshot reminds me of the Delta Force 2 landscape a bit...and that's great because I loved DF2...a shame it's all ruined by cheaters now.

I think JO is a BF:V killer !! I played it for a few hours
last night and it was great !! 100 players in the south
east asia jungles with no lag. The Novaworld servers are
fast and free with no log. I like playing big games, 100
players is great for the demo. The real game supports
150 players. I think I'm going to buy this game. I'm go
to play the demo for a week and if I still like it , I will buy
the game. I had some great games last night with
some teamwork ...
Try the Demo and let me know what you think. The Demo
is free and you have nothing to lose by trying it.

PS: I still like BF:1942 due to it about WWII. If NovaLogic
had a game like this in WWII it would kill BF:1942.
-
PSS: I hope that DICE didn't wait to long on BF:2
