they only give their opinion about a person (Bush in this case), and get 'punnished' for that. Means: no freedom of speech, means: dictatorship, means Bush is a dictator?????
(and means: Bush=Hussein?).
Just wondering
Maybe I am saying just nonsense (because it's allready 4 pm here, and I am exhausted). But I was just wondering![]()
Beyond nonsense:eek:

I don't see the problem. Surely she is entitled to express an opinion. If you disagree why storm out and act like a child, seems kind of insane to me. Why not just shake your head and move on like an adult? I thought the US was all about free speech.
Dude, the patrons pay to hear the bitch sing not rant about politics. It's like the Dixie Chicks running their mouths. Entertainers need to STFU and do what they get paid to do.
This is one of my pet peeves. Why the hell do I care what a singer or actor/actress thinks about politics?! Are they to be considered to be a learned individual just because they can sing or act like someone they're not?

So she is allowed to express her opinion but the people who paid money to see her entertain do not? Seems they did a good job of expressing their opinion to me.
Or is it only ok if you agree with her opinion?
I was referring to everyday people who feel the need to boycott products just because the person in the advertisement has a certain political view.
Whats wrong with that? I doubt you would see a huge Market for Hitler Snack Cakes. Wether you like it or not, wether it matches your political philosophy, people will have a different view than you and are entitled to act on it.
Both these quotes smack of "Its ok because its what I believe" and you are scornful of people who hold an opposite opinion. One one hand you are protecting her right to have her own opinion and on the other you are chastising people for having their own, which disagrees.

Just another article which shows that this electional has all the makings of a great one. Getting to watching 50% of the country dance in the streets as the final verdict comes in while the other 50% plots how to undo the other over the4 years is gonna be fascinating. Neighbor against neighbor, brother against brother, by golly we haven't seen this in quite a while. Although it is nice to see people so motivated to become involved in the political process, it is also disheartening that so many take up the cause before they pickup a history book...
Condolences to all of you not living in a swing state, your gonna miss out on quite a November
. The debates alone should make awesome late night fodder!
I admit I do find it terribly amusing that this is really going to be an election about the supreme court. Even if Kerry won he'll be at the mercy of a republican congress and if Bush wins he will have 0 momentum to carry'm thru the final 4 years (remember the whole promotion of marriage on mars state o the union? damn that pesky budget).

Free speech maybe, but if your in my house and say sopmething I don't like I have the right to kick you out of my house.
The casino owner obviouslly didn't like moore or the movie 9/11 so s/he kicked her out.
You misunderstood mmy intentions, I have no objection to her contract being terminated, they almost certainly told her to stay away from politcs and she didn't and brought them a bad name, fair and sound business decision. My problem was trying to understand why the full grown adults in the audience would throw a temper tantrum and storm out, ripping down posters as they left just because someone expressed an opinion. That just doesn't seem like rational behaviour to me.
The rational thing to do would be to saunter over to the maitre d (sp?) and calmly point out that you'd rather that the performers politcs were left at the door. It's the assumption that the antisocial behaviour of storming out vandalising as you go is the singers fault that I find really objectionable. If you are an adult you are responsible for your own actions, and should be mature enough to make a proper complaint rather than throwing a tantrum that a 2 year old should be ashamed of

Freedom of Speech
We do have freedom of speech, but it's a double edged sword: the freedom to speak your opinion is also the freedom to say things that may cause people to dislike you, fire you, etc.

First off..I wouldnt pay 2 dollars to see her. I am not surprised at all that all the people stormed out of there. If...now i say if i was at the concert i would have thrown my crown and coke in the air as well, and depending on where i was sitting, Linda would be wearing it. While Im at it.....F%*k Whoopi too.

Loin is on to something. Old ass Linda Ronstant is still singing? She is almost 60. The most upsetting part is that what you will see if you go to Vegas right now is old ass Linda Ronstant. Her political views are secondary to this travesty.
I'll wait to go back. I think Roy is healing pretty good.
