the north korean military has over a million soldiers. their problem isn't numbers, it's equipment.
Pfft, that's nothing, the Chinese have close to a billion...plus the world's largest airfoce. Outdated MiGs sure but even the top of the line F-22 Raptors can't carry enough ammo plus counter measures and missiles against like 10 MiGs versus 1 Raptor.

Won't happen, putting as much rescources into military growth s they do leads to eventual economic colapse of which the military will fall under it;s own weight because they wont be able to pay their soldiers.Originally posted by Joe Pesci
I remember watching a show on the History Channel about North Korea and how if its current military growth continued, by 2020 it would be able to defeat the US Military.
Wouldn't that be a nut sucker...

In a communist nation women and men are allowed to join the military and participate in combat. THe government also harshles reprimands any couple who has more than 1 child, so because of that many couples will kill their babies if they turn out to be girls so they cna have a boy. THat would put 80% of the china population as male, maybe evne higher. And ina communist nation one of the best paying jobs is the military.

where are you getting these numbers from?
they have between 2.4 and 2.8 active military personnel, with a reserve of 600,000. that's not even 5 million, let alone a billion

The PLA's 2,820,000 active personnel are divided into seven military regions, Beijing, Shenyang, Nanjing, Jinan, Guangzhuo, Chengdu and Lanzhou. Five of these have access to the east coast.
The PLA's forces are then broken down into four key areas: strategic missile forces, the army, the navy and the air force. China also has a sizeable paramilitary police force involved in the controversial area of internal security.

From The Daily Times.com:
If North Korea attacked first or its war machine wasn’t seriously damaged by a US strike aimed at destroying its nuclear weapons program, in the first two or three weeks of fighting that nation could use its awesome firepower to leave more than 1 million people dead or wounded. Most would be South Korean troops and civilians, but thousands of US troops stationed here would also likely die, the US military estimates.
South Korean defenses could be pulverized for several hours by as many as 500,000 artillery rounds per hour from North Korean positions just 30 miles from Seoul. Tens of thousands of North Korean commandos, many disguised as civilians or South Korean troops, would probably sneak south in midget submarines or drop in by parachute. North Korea’s 500 to 600 Scud missiles, many carrying chemical weapons, could pound targets across South Korea, and longer-range missiles could hit civilian and US military targets as far as Japan, possibly even the western USA.
Damn! They've already researched midget submarines

Wouldn't it be scary as hell if you saw a bunch of North Koreans in transports pull up to New York Harbor, California, Texas, etc. with guns drawn. Ahhhh!
There was a comedy show on not too long ago where some comedian was like 'The Chinese could kayake over and put up a hell of a fight.' funny stuff.
As for all this war stuff I think America really needs to look inside itself and see that wer'e headed to an economical disaster. Once these babyboomers start hitting retirenment the economy is going to have a nuclear meltdown and that means HIGHER taxes, inflation, or a depression. Maybe it's just me but this seems like an inevitability rather then a possibility and it's right around the corner.

Time to sack Canada and loot all it's resources.
