OS X changes a lot of Mac's well-deserved laughing stock status.
Macs are better built; there's a seemless relationship between the hardware and the software. Their laptops are works of functional art, and while some of the iMacs are a bit oddly styled the aluminum PowerMacs are fantastic machines with cutting-edge technology.
Not only is OS X logical and beautiful to look at, but it's secure, reliable and runs just fine on so-called "slower chip speeds".
As a 15-year Windows veteran, I can at least admit when an OS offers a decent alternative to the accepted standard.

Their OS is definately something to admire. I think everybody can admit to that.
But on performance, Mac's are not the "must have" for music / video / graphics ect anylonger. And you get more bang for your buck performance out of PC's.
As far as OS's go, theirs is definately ahead of Microsofts in alot of areas, but thats also because Microsoft has 90% of the markets software made for its platform, and thats alot of shit that has to work together.
