Go to http://www.warpig.com and look at some of the tournament speed/hyper ball pictures. I rarely play in the woods anymore. Most tourneys are held on courses with giant inflatable bunkers. Paintball has evolved past woodball.

I used to play (like, 15 years ago, back in 88 or 89). Got out around 1998 because I hated the inflateable bunker/neon jersey and gun/spray and pray mentality.

Now I play airsoft, which focuses on military simulation. Since I actually spent some time in the infantry, it's a lot more appealing to me. I have about $5K worth of guns and gear, including an AK47, an MC51, a P90, and a M4A1, plus a half-dozen sets of diffrent camo, a few sets of load-bearing gear, and other assorted sundry stuff.

The Tippmann A-5 is a much greater upgrade of the 98 Custom. Anyone ever been hit by and A-5? feels great...

People need to learn about what they are talking about, heh.

One of the biggest things in paintball is customizing your gear - including bright colored paintball gun, or whatever. It's the way it is now.

Still, woodsball is fun too. And scenario games like the D-Day invasion (where thousands of players reenact the invasion on a field built/setup just for D-Day). It Goes on for 2 days.

I actually have a 3-man Speedball tournament next Sunday. Two of my teammates and I are competing in this non-pro tournament. We should do OK, but we aren't great.

I've been hit by Angels, Cockers, A-5's, 98's, Spyders..

You name it, I've been hit by it. Nothing feels like when you get hit by an Angel being shot at you 15 Balls Per Second.

Its not how hard an Angel hits, but its how many more time's an Angel hits you in that same timeframe than a non-electro gun. When playing against high end guns like Bob Long Intimidator's, DM4s, Shockers, Exacliburs, Matrix's, that can easily put a string of paint into the air, you should expect to be hit more than once at the same time.

I love playing wood's, especially after a long dy of speed ball, perfect end. The low pressure electro guns are awesome for woods, they barely make a sound when shooting and you have no idea where you getting nailed from.

Just because other people do it doesn't mean you have too.

Sweet video. I play with an old cheapy Spyder. I put a 14-inch barrel and a new spring and that's about it. I play strictly woods. I kinda like the stealthy thing. Although, I'd like to try speedball - gotta get in better shape though...

What do you guys usually chrono to when you play? Or, are you required to chrono before going out?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in the boat and drink beer all day...
