I take it Fox News is liberal since they show the exact same thing?

Think about it. Isn't it funny that when Israel retalliates after being hit with a wave of suicide bombers, the first thing that is shown on western television is the grieving and wounded palestinians being taken to hospitals. Paints a bad and biased picture of Israel doesn't it? Amazingly, nothing is ever shown on western tv as to what had happened to Israeli civilians when a suicide bomber detonated his or her bomb at a cafe or night club. That, is liberal media for you, and the more people that realize this, the better.

What are you talking about? I see both sides in the news doing stupid things over there, and neither honestly working on stopping it.

History quote of the day:

"It is good that war is so terrible, else we should grow too fond of it."

Anyone know who said it? :)

And more of that is needed. Too often we show videos that have a negative impact on everything we do, with little support towards the positive actions we take.

The video footage on this thread has got to be one of the best positive motivators for us about our troops abroad. In a time when many people here despise all US military action (even when Hussein was actually murdering hundreds of thousands of his own people), footage like this shows the sacrifice and unselfish acts that our armed forces take everyday that they are over there.

I only wish more of this would be shown instead of the usual, depressing footage that only tells the side of the story that favors the networks the best.

Amazingly, the construction of a 'politically incorrect' wall has thwarted suicide bombers and terrorists from killing innocent civilians by over 90% where it is complete...without the need for more bloodshed on Israel's part.

If you try to negotiate with fanatacism and religious idealism, you will lose everytime.

The UN spilt the land up after WWII when Britain withdrew their mandate of Palestine, into Arab and Jewish states. That didn't stop Egypt and Syria from attacking Israel in May of 1967(known as the Six Day War). It also didn't stop Arab terrorists from murdering innocent Israeli athletes at the Olympic games in Munich, Germany in 1972. I can give many other examples, but I'll hold off on them now (typing gets tiresome lol).

If you're going to tell me that neither is doing anything to stop the nonsense over there, I am going to list all the times when Israel came to the peace negotiation table just to be forced into a defensive and reactive stance only after another incident or attack on them.

It isn't as black and white as many would like to believe.

As for tv, I do see more suffering on the end of Iraqis and Palestinians than I do of American soldiers or Israeli citizens. The news isn't unbiased, at least not in New York City. Their coverage depends on which way they lean, and there are those that lean both way right, and way left of center. That is the facts. NO ONE tells the whole story or paints the entire picture. It is up to each indivdual viewer to critically analyze what is presented to them, and then if need be, to research the topics or headlines further. Only then will we be able to formulate a truly 'educated' opinion on the subject at hand.

The only fact is the media is messed up. It is not left or right, it is $. What sells is what is on the news. This is why you see the SAME Iraqi kid missing two legs on CNN as you do on Fox News. If one is left and the other right, both would not show the 'liberal' news piece, yet both do.

There is a problem with the news, and it is $.

I know the whole history of the middle east. Both countries can not get along. It is like saying the US was in the right and the USSR was in the wrong during the cold war. Sorry, we were both stupid and neither was giving up until one was down for the count. Peace accords, nuke disarming, etc. It ment nothing until one country collapsed.

You're absolutely right Jimmy. More people need to realize this. The news never tells the whole story. They are all about what interests them and their particular 'political' agenda.

You are 100% right Jimmy Tango, American News media is a business trying to earn a profit, and their income is based on number of viewers watching. This means the unbiased truth isn't as important as sensationalism. They are neither left nor right, just sensationalistic. They hype everthing, they try to scaret the sh*t out of people, whatever it takes to get people to watch their channel as opposed to the three of four other News sources that are available. The only exception I find is Fox News, but so little of Fox News is actually news, most of the day they have panels of commentators, analysts, ect and they skew the hell of out things to the Right. But when they do run the News, it's the standard overhyped bullsh*t.

I have the utmost respect for our soldiers, but I really dont like this kind of coverage. Almost makes a spectacle out of a completely serious thing: WAR.

I don't like cameras and cameramen showing fighting, sitting there filming people risking their lives and dying. Kind of like "Running Man" where you have these people just watching you fight for your life while they sit back and "cover it."

Maybe its just me.......

This coverage has been going on since the American Civil War. Did you know that newsmen were among the first waves to hit the beaches at Normandy? Do you think they were there for the fun of it, or, rather to bravely capture the history of it all for future generations to see and learn from it? These guys have BIG BALLS going in with the troops in the midst of combat. I wonder if you would feel the same way watching the WWII shows on the History Channel?

That isn't entirely true. The recent presidental election as well as the controversy over the Kerry Switf Boat Veterans Ad showed that some stations are very conservative, while others are extremely liberal.
