What's even weirder is that you increase the range of the fob by pointing it directly in to your body rather than at the car. They ran a spot about it on a car program we have over here called Top gear. If you hold the fob upto your emple for example you can get it to work like 10 metres further for the car than by pointing it directly. Now that's odd!

I would think that it would not work because I doubt that the frequencies used would be within the voice spectrum (300-3400Hz).

According to Snopes this is an urban legend....

I don't know if this is true but ...

I hear if you throw a lit cigarette into a gas tank, somthing magical happens.
it gets extinguished. My work has a fire safety class that they make u take. The instructor took a jug filled with gasoline. opened it. He said there is nothing to worry about unless there is a spark. He closed the jug, waited a minute so the fumes had a chance to dissapate then lit up a cigarette. He then opened the jug took a few puffs then threw it into the jug. Everyone ran as body parts went flying everywhere :). Actually the cigarette just extinguished in the gasoline. he did say dont try this at home.

Does not work, Even with a colt, whine tipped, You have to throw/ flick it at the ground, action, reaction, sparks, fire.

If that, thats like 1 to 12 hit ratio, if that.

Are these the same people who run for there lives when some1 lights off a M80/100, Those don't even blow up G.I. Joe's, never got my hands on the 1000's, but i heard/ seen on a news special, they did a 1000 and a water melon..... the melon got owned.

I found this info to use as reference (haven't double-checked it yet but it looks pretty accurate on first glance). Looks like (most) remote keyless entry devices for automobiles use pretty high frequencies (didn't want to use the word very as VHF is an actual band of freqencies). It's my opinion that there is no way that these frequencies could be passed through your telephone as the bandwidth required to digitize the signal would be huge.
