Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Man-at-Arms: I agree on the characters thing to a certain degree. The one character I really enjoy in the prequel trilogy is Kenobi. Lucas and McGregor really spent some time developing him, his characteristics, and his likeability. Anakin's character is good in Episode III, but flat as hell in Ep I & II.
I also agree about the special effects and overuse of CG. Just because you can, doesn't necessarily mean you should. Best case in point: Jar Jar.
And LOL about Triumph! Loved the Triumh interviews with people in line for Episode II. Funny as hell. Anyone have/know a link to a video clip? Wish I had saved it when I saw it way back when.

Loved it... fast paced, lots of killing of jedi... the dark side prevailed, whats not to love?
I still think obi-wan should've bitched slapped darth vader there at the end when they were fighting near the lava.

My favorite scene is when Padme, alone in her apartment, looks at the jedi building in the distance while Anakin looks back from there.

LOL! Yeah everyone still groaned in the theatre when Jar Jar came on. Even though his total screen time was barely 3 seconds.

My math teacher today dressed as George Lucas. Beard, plaid button up shirt and all.
Did he have George's pelican neck too?

The acting and dialog certainly were not bad in the original trilogy.
They were not bad? What?

I was disappointed. With 45 minutes left to go, I was looking at my watch, thinking, "how much longer?"
The dialogue was horrible! Even good actors could not make it work. The lines between Padme and Anakin were some of the worst. I give five stars to Ewan MacGregor for channeling Alec Guiness, and for making his lines work. Ian McDiarmid also made excellent work of his lines. I guess that's what separates good actors form great ones.
What else? To many plotlines... felt like there were seven acts instead of three. Some scenes too short, others too long (bad pacing). Goofy "photo-op" shots like Yoda or Anakin grimacing into the camera.
Whetever magic Lucas had back in the 70s was lost. (Have you seen some of the stuff he added to the originals for the rerelease?--Goofy, just plain goofy.)

That's why episode V is the best of the series. Irvin Kershner, that was a real director.

Well, I was really happy with this one. After 1 and 2, I had such low expcations for 3 that almost anything would have been great
12. The security system in the Jedi temple. One press of a button and you can instantly jump to playback of Anakin slaughtering Younglings. Another press of a button shows Anakin bowing before his new master in Palpatine's office. Now hang on..How is the security camera picking up Palpatines office? And if there are cameras everywhere why do you need Anakin to spy on Palpatine in the first place. Duh!
Easy, he used the force to press other buttons
Also, maybe Palpatine came to the temple to give Anakin a pat on the back.

No lines for me, my buddy the oncologist rented a theater, gave out door prizes and even had the event catered

Most of the people invited were nurses and other staff members he works with.
He is a bit of a sci-fi nut. Here is his website:

I was there in costume as part of the 501st. It rocked! Not as good as the first 3 but much better than the last 2.
Can't wait to see this in my home theater at Christmas.

I just got back from seeing it with a couple of friends. It starts out with a bang (the huge space battle was pretty cool) but the dialogue was atrocious and alot of the jokes fell flat. However, just as you start saying to yourself "omg this movie is a dissaster" it gets good, real good, and it only gets better. The ending was very, very well done as it gave a depressing feeling of the beginning of the empire, but also of hope with the births of both Luke and Leia.
The Darth Vader "nooooooo" was stupid and corny though. :-/

I agree but i'll take the "NOOOOOOOOOO" thing over more Jar-Jar screen time anyday.

I still think they should have had Jar-Jar visiting the temple so Vader would have had to kill him
