Wow, I just read that 100,000 people didn't leave the city. They expect swells of almost 30 feet, and New Orleans is like 8 feet below sea level. This could be really, really bad, like worse than 9/11 bad.

Hmm.... 904mb pressure... Very not good.... This will definitley be bad.

Us Long Islanders are awaiting the next big Northeast hurricane. There hasn't been one here in a long time, we are due for it. And a big Cat 5 like that would put Long Island under water :( I feel really bad for all of the people living there... And all the stray pets with no where to go :(

I was born and raised in New Orleans, I now live right outside Orlando, FL.

This sounds like the storm we were warned about every year hurricane season came along, They called it the Doomsday storm.

New Orleans and the outlying cities are completely surrounded by levee's that keep the water out. they will not be able to withstand the storm surge with a storm as big as Katrina.

And believe it or not, my wife has some family members who have decided not to leave.

also, I read that the area is responsible for 25% of our domestic oil, and the price of a barrel of oil has already going up $4.00 more with the news of the storm.

P.S. and yes, if it rains alot, caskets and bodies start to pop out of the ground.

Approx 10,000 people in the superdome which is being used as a shelter. And just a while ago it was reported that the superdome has sprung a leak!?!?!! One of the news station feeds has a reporter on the phone live reporting the damage.
