King Kong, anyone see it

I thought it seemed so much sadder than the original. The new version has the longer death scene, plus the part where he gets down face to face with her, it was pretty sad. I did like though the way they showed his 'battle' was more about pride and stubborness than just an animal lashing out. After he was really shot up, the way he stood up and pounded his chest, like 'I'm still here' kind of thing. The original I though Kong was a little less intelligent, and the girl seemed to not care quite as much, less of a connection.
