Romance

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Romance is staying up late at night walking around the dining room calming your infant child so your wife can get a much needed nights sleep. Without her knowing.

Romance is sacrifice, all that other stuff is just romance in soap opera clothing.

Nah Sannop, that aint romance. That's lovin sacrifice. While the sacrifice is something you do without her knowing as a way of expressing your love. The romance is something you go out of your way to do as part of showing her how much you love her. Love without sacrifice is an empty thing. Love without romance is a boring thing.

I like your last sentence. But after 12 years of marriage... the sacrifice is always received as so very important.

it is what keeps the magic possible

Doom you made me think of a quote from Henry David Thoreau, "Love is an attempt to change a piece of a dream-world into reality." Romantic Indeed.

Wasn't trying to play love dr. just stating my view on love and etc. IMO the romance is the easy part, at least during the first few years... The sacrifice is more important though, can't be on the look out for just yourself in a lasting relationship. 12 years is a nice run mano, hope it keeps going strong.

This is so cute how the guys are talking about romance. I didn't think that men thought about those things unless they are trying to get something.

I know how sensitive some men can be at times.

:D :) ;) :P

Well since we actually have a few female readers here... How about it ladies? Drop some of your thoughts on romance on us.

And I swear, that if I have to start jamming grenades where the sun doesn't shine, I will get some other romantic posts on here by the other heathens...err guys I mean. If that doesn't work, then I will just have to step up my romantic post production...

Camel yep it is new.. thanks Cpl Bingham.

Also, I was trying to get some. :P

Freedom, nothing wrong with bondage.

Seriously,

In the long run romance is when you show that you are going out of your way for the other person. My wife likes flowers, jewerly etc etc. But if I really want to do something special, I will do something that is real for her. If she comes home to a completely clean house with dinner ready.... she knows that I did it for her. Not out of some sense of duty.

Just asking how was your day (and we know that women love to talk to relax after work .... men like to be quiet... so ask then listen.. ) shows caring. My wife would tell you that that is romantic.

Some say romance is a blow-job. Not in the physical pleasure it gives, but in the fact that it's a good 10 minutes of silence.
