you have to install your driver chipset. Did a disc with drivers come with your motherboard? If it did, install them (i think they are called INF drivers) or download them from your chipset's website. after a restart, the option should be available.

I'll echo what Shock says. You REALLY need to install the chipset and AGP drivers that come with todays motherboards, especially if your running an AMD cpu.
You can't just drop in a CPU and some memory and expect top performance. I don't know how many automatically generated tech-support emails and DXDIAG reports I've seen that indicate that the computer isn't even set up properly, let alone any bugs a game they're having trouble with may have.

I ran 3dmark, and my score increased by 500 points to over 5000 points!!!!!!!!
I was thinking about upgrading to a 9800pro soon--i guess now i can hold off a lil longer![]()
dont know if i would go this far yet...consider this...
my 9700pro ATI card is nearly a year old and when i run 3Dmark its 13,500 or somewhere there bouts. this on a MB that doesnt support the 8x capabilities of the vid card...
I have not failed...I have just found 10,000 ways that don't work.

8X and 4X are basically the same. there is no performance increase in a mobo that supports 8X and a mobo that supports up to 4X.
but i know, the 9700 is a really powerful card. I'll be keeping it for quite some time now.
oh and just to be clear, im running 3dmark03, you're running 3dmark01
scoring is way different. you will probably get around 5300 with your system.
