Meh... I dont blame them as a people... We have all had at one time or another extremist who give a bad name to the whole... I think its all economic... We are secure with our middle class American lives, while they are poor. I think as more and more of the middle east industrializes and becomes on par with the first world countries we wont have these kind of problems. Its already happening. I believe Iraq has a fairly large and growing middle class (by there standards). When people have things to look forward to in thier lives they will not readily strap bombs to themselves. You dont see rich and successful Arabs blowing themselves up. Another factor I think is that of Pride. Because they are developing economically they have pride in thier country. How would you like it if (lets just suppose) we were in thier shoes and China or Russia decided to step in and pacify one of our allies? I think the best thing we could do is get out of the middle east... If we leave them alone long enough, maybe they wont hate us... Of course... We would secure the Oil...

The point I was making about post holocaust guilt is more that it has made everyone so damn afraid of criticising Israel for their action or taking any real action to check their agression, lest they be called a nazi. This taboo has definately played a part in International relations with Israel.

I appreciate though that there are many other factors at work.
