All I'm saying is less people would buy gas guzzlers if they had to fill out a form to get one. ANd since the DMV is on the net you could fill it out on the net and pick up the permit later or have it mailed to you.

All I'm saying is that it's a waste of the DMV's time for SUV's. And I wonder how much they would charge you to process this form and get a permit?

What $5 for a permit to buy a SUV is trivial to the amount of money an SUV costs.

It's not trivial. Your tax money is going to pay a lot more than that for the processing of such a permit.

I doubt processing would amount to much more than an initial investment of setting it up. Beyond that there wouldn't be much. Maybe for the paper itself but that it what the $5 is for!
