I have never really had any major surgery (Thank God). The stuff i have had was always local anesthesia, heck one time the dentist told me that the cavity i had wasn't too deep and I didn't need anything...and proceded to drill with out giving me anything, I still have my top wisdom teeth, bottom ones are history

Word of advice: Dont swallow your gauze

I was so out of it for like 2 days, i swallowed my gauze like 3 or 4 times...

That gas sooo god damn powerful... They turned mine on a little high at first and it was like... HEHEHHEH... then they turned it down :( You are lucky man, I have no memory of that day and the day after...

I really like Sublime, way cool tag you have there, what a shame for him to OD, but sort of like Jimmy Hendrix I guess. burn up too fast.
Anyway, yeah I remember my wisdom teeth ocming out. I went under local anesthetic, my mother is a vet and has seen they crappy way most dentists run their anesthesia. Anyway, I was not looking forward to being knocked out. I however did get the joy of feeling the teeth coming out (not the paint, just the dull sensation) and the room was doing flips. Ugh. Good luck and like they said, keep 'em clean!

Be sure not to use a straw when you drink, or you may suck the blood clots out of the holes, and get dry sockets. I did that - dry sockets was the worst pain I've ever been in.

Ewww...I think my mom or doctor told me not to do that or spit.

It has been three days now, so I am not sure if the clots have dried up or not.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out weirdest dentist I have ever encountered. I was doing a job that required me to travel and be away for weeks at a time, and one of the wisdom teeth started giving me real trouble, right at the worst possible time. I went to a local dentist ( I was up in Presque Isle, Maine) and he told me it was best to take out both of the top wisdom teeth, the bottoms could wait. I informed him how busy I was, what bad time it was, etc. The guy tells me he can do them both on the spot, using a local and that it, I'd be back to work in less than hour! They prepped me, then You have to picture this, god as my witness, he jumps on the chair with each knee on one of the arm rests, kinda astride me for lack of a better term. He goes "gotta get some leverage here" , then planted one hand on the side of my face, and goes at one the teeth with would looked like an ice pick. One minute later the guy is done, he says "Now let's get little reverse action" , does the same thing to other side in maybe a minute or two. A couple of stitches, and I'm on my way back to work with gauze in my mouth. I swear, that guy was done within 15 minutes of prep time, like he was the Jiffy Lube of dentristy. I don't think I would ever use someone like that for general preventitive maintenance, but if you have to have a tooth taken out, this was the guy to go to.

Well.....the dentist says that my wisdom teeth havent come in yet and might need braces or something to pull them out right. Hells no to that. Then he gives me some BS on not being able to disgust and chew my food properly, well, hmmm...., it's been a good couple years that I havent had my widom teeth and I am sure my diet hasnt suffered.
