It's fun. It's not great but it provides some decent combat. Capturing bases is almost impossible unless you have a large squad at your side. You first have to destroy it which can take over a 2 minutes and then you have to capture it (so you can spawn there) which can take just as long. Snipers seem to be everywhere but I like the machine guns and regular firearms like the AK47. Teamwork? No, that doesn't really exist here. Sometimes people will load up on helicopters and work together in an uncoordinated cluster**** but that's the best you get here. It's the basic battlefield formula with some new vehicles and visuals. That's not to say Joint Ops doesn't have it's share of teamwork moments. I was defending a bunker with a few guys and we held it for quite awhile until some smacktard ruins it all with a flashbang and runs in killing everything. Everything else is really the same. Only 40 bucks. With the limited releases of big name games this summer, Joint Ops is a good purchase. They've managed to keep 100 player servers smooth and workable. There's still lag here and there but not too much. The Night/Day Cycle is a cool addition although it serves no real purpose.
7 out of 10 for the demo. No Battlefield Killer but it came close.

The Demo version I tried had the most retarded helicopter flight characteristics ever. It's beyond arcade. It makes BFV's helos look like a hardcore flight sim. For me that's just a sore spot. I didn't get a chance to go online with it though. Is the aiming/hit system like Delta Force, ie, if you put your crosshairs kinda in the direction of the enemy you get an automatic hit? That's what ruined Delta Force for me, insanely accurate, even beyond accurate, I swear I would drop guys without even quite getting the crosshairs on them.

I was on a 150 player server last night and I noticed a few burps here and there . As far as CPU usage . Game kills BFV and BF1942 it uses less than 20% most of the time . Gameplay is fun but just trying it out now you will need to be noobified . Lotta tricks and stuff need to be learned . It definitely a different creature from BF . Has pulled me away from BFV for a much needed recess .I still play BFV just need a little break . The price of it is a fair price . On novalogics website they started a petition for a dedicated server for the public .

It's still fun though. The medic system (which is similar to Wolfenstien) is useless but most of the combat is cool. There is a yellow streak which indicates where your being fired from. Not a bad addition but a giveaway to newblets.
It would be very difficult to tell where you're taking fire from without that yellow flash. You can't see the interaction between bullet and environment. When you fire your gun into a tree or directly below you, you don't see any debris movement. I don't really like that but its still a pretty good game. I also like the customizable weapons and character appearances.

Still nothing but slow downs, reminds me of BFV when it first came out.
I also hate how certain keys can not be bound. i can nto use the keys I always use for reload and jump. I also hate the fact that prone and nealing have a different key to get up from that position, it should be the same one.

Played and uninstalled it.
The graphics were marginal and the slowdowns were horrendous.
The best part of the game IMO is the sound. The sound blows bf1942/bfV outta the water.
You hear nothing but explosions and GUNFIRE!
I loved that part of it.

Think we may be comparing apples to oranges here guys. Instead talking about BF:1942 and the "polish" it has now (BULLSHIT) we should just stick to comparing it to BF:V. I have heard some good things about this from a few of my {CN} clan friends and a few here, so I plan on giving the demo a whirl at the least. Frankly if the game has ANY kind of a decent net code, it has a leg up on both BF:V and BF:1942. I dislike what I am hearing about bullet and terrain interaction though, that is weak, so is the yellow arrow thing as well (at least IMO). Give me tracer fire that I have to track or die looking for rather than an arrow telling me OOOHHH OVER THERE!!! removes some of the skill level from the game.
As a former PS beta man myself I can definitely say IT SUCKED BACK THEN!!! If they managed to clean up the net code A LOT, and tweak the flight engine some I may peek into this again, will depend on how JO plays... Regardless, there is no way I can swing a P2P game these days. I am one po ass white boy.

Well Doom, the yellow arrow just shows you the direction of the shots. It doesn't point to the person shooting you.
Which is a helluva a lot easier than finding the sound of gunfire/bullet impacts or tracking tracer fire and then narrowing down the enemy location while under fire. Yellow arrow gives you the direction free of charge. I like hearing gunfire/impacts and then ducking/covering and going "where the hell...?" and then finding the guy and putting the fear of the barn into him. It's a level of immersion/skill requirements needed to excel, more than anything else about BF:1942 that keeps me playing despite the flaws that I percieve.
But of course this is me spouting off BEFORE I give it a try

EDIT: two hour wait to BEGIN downloading this beastie... Will have to wait awhile before I go after this, UNLESS... someone can slip me a better source than *spits* Fileplanet *spits again*...?
